Since I’ve shifted my diet to SANE foods, I feel incredible. I sleep better, and I have more energy during the day. I also experience less anxiety, and I’ve seen a major reduction in depressive episodes. I’d love for you to experience the same mental and physical health benefits, which is one of the reasons I am thrilled to share this post I co-authored with Jonathan Bailor, Executive Producer of the BETTER movie and CEO of SANESolution.

In the past few decades, the rates of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and most other diseases have skyrocketed. It is not an accident that the availability and popularity of highly processed foods and fast foods has escalated as well. Trust me, I’m no stranger to the cravings these foods produce— my favorite meal has always been fried chicken and mashed potatoes! (What can I say? I’m from Alabama :D )

The problem is that some of these processed and fast foods are not really food, but “food-like” products made in a lab. Most have been stripped of their fiber and filled with sodium, saturated fats, and toxic chemicals. Sugar is also added to heavily processed foods, even ones not considered to be “sweet” foods.

Research shows that about 60% of the average American’s total daily calorie intake comes from heavily processed foods.(1) This is a huge problem for public health!

In a 2020 study published in Nutrition Journal, researchers discovered that high consumption of heavily processed foods is associated with:

“An increased risk of all-cause mortality, overall cardiovascular diseases, coronary heart diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, overweight and obesity, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, overall cancer, postmenopausal breast cancer, gestational obesity, adolescent asthma and wheezing, and frailty.” (2)

In other words, these foods are impacting our quality of life and even reducing our life expectancy!

The solution is to change the quality of your diet by switching to nutrient-dense whole foods that nourish your body, while reducing or eliminating heavily processed foods. This will not only vastly improve the way you feel right now, but it will also reduce your risk of developing health-destroying diseases.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH):

“Healthy eating can lower your risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other health conditions. A healthy eating plan emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products; includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts; and limits saturated and trans fats, sodium, and added sugars.”(3)

That is a SANE Diet in a nutshell.

Switching to a SANE diet has had an amazing impact on my mood, sleep quality, and overall well being. It was also easier to implement these dietary changes than I ever thought possible. And I’m not the only one.

Check out BetterMovie.com and you’ll be amazed at how easy and transformative switching to a high-quality diet can be!
